The Road to the Grand Finals

The intense League stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) has concluded, setting the stage for the high-stakes Grand Finals. The Last Chance phase ended on Nov. 26, with the top-performing teams from around the world securing their spots in the finals. Additionally, two teams received direct invites.

The tournament kicked off on Nov. 2 with the group phase, featuring 48 teams divided into three groups. Each group played 24 matches, and the top three teams from each group advanced to the Grand Finals. The fourth to eleventh-placed teams were seeded to the survival stage, while the rest were eliminated.

In the survival stage, held from Nov. 22 to Nov. 24, 24 teams battled for a place in the Last Chance phase. Only 16 teams made it through, while the others were eliminated. The Last Chance phase featured the remaining 16 teams, fighting for their last opportunity to secure a spot in the finals. Only five teams from this phase were promoted to the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals

The Grand Finals of the PMGC will take place at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall in Istanbul, Turkey, from Dec. 8 to Dec. 10. Sixteen promising rosters will compete for the championship title. Here are the participating teams, categorized by their mode of promotion:

The Prize Pool

This year’s PMGC boasts a total prize pool of $3,000,000, which is divided between the League and Grand Finals stages. The League stage had a prize pool of $1,520,000, while the upcoming Grand Finals will have $1,420,000 up for grabs. The winner of PMGC ’23 will receive the largest share of $400,000, followed by $200,000 for second place and $120,000 for third place.
